Have we lost the true meaning of what living means?

from my observations of people i know, work with and others in the community: I see ppl struggling to pay for stuff they could of done without, families torn apart because of money issues, Drug and alcohol abuse run rampant, kids raising themselves because both parents are working night and day, going to family reunions and ppl not knowing half the other ppl there, parks empty but the freeways are full, People in general just not being able to get along. the list could go on, Im not a negative person at all i look for the good in people, but it seems we as a whole have lost what it means to live LIFE. the ability to see whats really important and what isn't. I don't know maybe im totally wrong on this, but it saddens me to see so many people in what seems to be so much pain..
