Recipes for a mash/treats without bran or any feed?

Hi! I would like to give my horse a mash someday, Can this be fed like a treat? Or does it have to replace a normal meal? And then for the treats, how often can you give a horse a treat without it getting nippy? Can you please give me a couple of yoru favorite recipes With dosing instructions? Thanks!
