What to tell a 7 year old?

What do I say to a 7 year old if she ask me why Santa Claus is white and black ? Her whole life she has been told by the media that he is white. Why is that and how are people as parents supposed to convince them otherwise? PLEASE DON'T FLAG AS ABUSE! I am curious to see what answers I can give to this 7 year old girl.THANK YOU!
